Three years of partnership with 6 operational sites evolve into a rollout of 12 new high-power charging sites and around 100 charging points, with the first MCS-capable installation planned for 2027.

Zurich, Switzerland / Aix-en-Provence, France, 4 November 2026 – ABB E-mobility and French charge point operator Oreve are expanding their partnership to deploy new high-power charging sites along key freight routes. Under the expanded agreement, ABB E-mobility provides its high-power chargers, the cloud-based asset management platform and a comprehensive service package covering real-time monitoring and remote support.

Oreve is taking the next step in its charging strategy, reinforcing its focus on trucks and the electrification of France's freight corridors, while continuing to serve passenger vehicles as well. The two companies have worked together for three years, deploying six sites to date at locations along France's major freight routes, including Bourg-de-Péage on the Valence–Grenoble axis, Vénissieux in the Lyon logistics hub, and Pardies in the south-west.

The latest projects build on this established partnership, adding 12 new sites with around 100 charging points to Oreve's network, alongside extending its existing sites. Once fully deployed by the end of 2028, the 12 new sites are planned to provide around 18 MW of installed charging capacity, all equipped with ABB E-mobility high-power chargers, with room to grow as demand increases.

The expansion comes as France prepares for a significant scale-up of heavy-duty charging. France's national road-network charging plan foresees around 8,000 truck charging points across some 560 motorway rest and service areas by 2035, with around 1.6 GW of dedicated truck charging capacity concentrated along the country's main freight corridors.

The rollout is built on a single ABB E-mobility architecture, spanning the A400 all-in-one chargers and the M-Series modular split system. The new Oreve sites start with A400 chargers, which each share 400 kW dynamically across two charging points. From early 2027, sites are additionally equipped with the M-Series, whose modular power cabinets let a site scale from 400 kW and a handful of charging points to a full 1.2 MW corridor hub by adding power modules and up to 24 dispensers to the existing system, without rebuilding the underlying power infrastructure each time.

Both the A400 chargers and the M-Series’ OM dispensers use liquid-cooled cables, optimized for heavy-duty truck charging sessions. These sustain higher charging currents for longer, up to 600 A for A400 and up to 800 A on the OM dispensers, while keeping the cable lighter and easier for drivers to handle. The M-Series supports both CCS and MCS charging, giving Oreve a defined technical path to megawatt charging. For this rollout, the first MCS-capable installation is planned for 2027.

Our brand DNA is innovation, driven by our commitment to accelerating the energy transition and transforming heavy-duty mobility. That is why, from as early as 2023, we were among the first to develop public charging stations specifically designed for electric trucks, combining ultra-fast charging with services focused on driver comfort and the overall user experience. As the market evolves, we continuously adapt our deployment strategy and network to stay at the forefront of technology and innovation. Our ambition is to bring the most advanced charging solutions to our stations, in step with the latest developments from truck manufacturers and charging technology providers.

Nicolas Dourassoff CEO, Oreve

Oreve saw early where freight logistics was heading and began building the charging infrastructure to match. Their trust in ABB E-mobility as a partner has allowed us to turn that vision into a scalable solution. Our architecture enables them to expand each site as truck traffic grows, while creating a clear path toward megawatt charging.
