ABB E-Mobility Partners with ASKO to Support Electric Truck Charging Infrastructure
Service agreement establishes defined support and maintenance framework for charging infrastructure serving ASKO's electric truck operations.
Zurich, Switzerland / Oslo, Norway, September 29, 2026 – ASKO, Norway's leading grocery wholesaler and logistics provider and part of the NorgesGruppen Group, and ABB E-mobility today announced a service agreement covering the operation, maintenance and support of ASKO's charging infrastructure for electric heavy-duty transport.
The electrification of heavy-duty transport places new requirements on both vehicles and charging infrastructure. ASKO operates approximately 700 trucks supplying more than 1,800 grocery stores throughout Norway. As the share of electric vehicles in the fleet continues to increase, charging infrastructure has become an important component of the company's logistics operations.
With this agreement, the collaboration moves beyond hardware. ABB E-mobility takes on the ongoing monitoring and maintenance of that infrastructure, supporting consistent performance and availability for daily operations. This lets ASKO focus on deliveries while ABB E-mobility keeps the charging infrastructure running.
ABB E-mobility and ASKO have worked together on charging infrastructure since 2019. Over this period, ABB E-mobility's chargers have delivered more than 20 GWh of energy, including 5.5 GWh in the latest twelve months alone, across a network that has grown to more than 60 active high-power chargers in seven Norwegian cities.
Most recently, ABB E-mobility deployed its A400 high-power charger at an ASKO logistics facility. Delivering up to 400 kW, the A400 provides the fast, reliable charging that ASKO's heavy-duty operations require, expanding the existing infrastructure as the company continues to electrify its transport fleet.
ASKO has a long-standing ambition to achieve fossil-free transport and continues to invest in electric vehicles, charging infrastructure and renewable energy solutions to support this transition. In the Oslo region, ASKO has already reached this milestone in its distribution to grocery customers, with deliveries conducted using electric vehicles since 2025.
Charging infrastructure is becoming an increasingly important part of our operations as we electrify our transport fleet. For ASKO, this agreement is about predictable service and maintenance, stable charging operations and reliable deliveries to our customers.
Lars Erik Olsen Technical Manager, ASKO
Large-scale fleet electrification is not only a hardware question; it is also an operations question. For logistics companies, charging infrastructure must be supported by predictable service, maintenance and response routines
